In the case of the Vantage range this ‘baby’ conceals a fabulous lightweight front-mid-mounted 4.7-Litre V8 engine. PURE SPORTING CAPABILITY Developing 420 bhp (426 PS) and 470 Nm (346 lb ft) of torque the V8 Vantage can accelerate from a standstill to 60 mph in just 4.7 seconds (0-100 km/h in 4.9 seconds), and achieve a possible maximum speed of 180 mph (290 km/h). LIGHT, STRONG & RIGID The core of V8 Vantage is the VH (Vertical Horizontal) architecture. Providing a lightweight, high-strong and stiff structure to which the engine, transmission and double wishbone suspension are attached, the VH platform is designed to concentrate as much mass as possible within the wheelbase for perfect weight distribution, a low polar moment of inertia and a low centre of gravity. IMPROVED TRANSMISSION Equipped with a six-speed manual transmission as standard, the V8 Vantage can also be had with the optional seven-speed Sportshift II automated manual paddle-operated transmission. Delivering quick, clean gearshifts without the need to remove your hands from the steering wheel, Sportshift II adds another dimension of control and enjoyment, while a full automatic mode takes the sting out of city driving.
